Over 300 government employees under the banner of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) held demonstration in Jammu seeking speedy disposal of their demands.
"If our demands are not fulfilled before October 14, we will gherao the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar on October 15," employee leader Gafoor Dar said.
Protests were also reported from other district and tehsil headquarters, where agitating workers handed over memorandums to the concerned officials.
Employees are demanding enhancement in retirement age from 58 to 60 years, removal of pay anomalies and a policy on regularisation of daily wagers and contractual employees besides other demands.
