J&K govt sanctions medicine procurement for anti Hepatitis-C

Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned the procurement of medicine for anti Hepatitis-C Virus (HCV) therapy in relaxation of rules and asked the health department to conduct a Valley-wide survey to assess the incidents of the disease.
"The state cabinet which met here yesterday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accorded sanction to the procurement of the medicine for anti Hepatitis-C Virus (HCV) therapy at Takiya Magam and Sonabrari villages (Kokernag) from M/s Fulford India Limited in relaxation of the procurement rules," an official spokesman said.
He said the cabinet also asked the Department of Health and Medical Education to conduct a survey in other districts of the valley to assess incidents of Hepatitis-C.
