"To spread awareness about drug abuse and illicit trafficking, an anti-drug campaign vehicle would move around the entire Jammu city throughout the day," SSP Crime, Mubassir Latifi, said.
The vehicle would make announcement so as to make general public aware about the menace of drug abuse and also motivate people to keep their children away from it, he said
"School children become easy target of drug abuse so the Crime Branch would educate their parents to keep their wards away from this menace," the SSP said, appealing parents to keep a strict watch on their children.
"In 2014, we registered 405 cases under NDPS Act, whereas in 2013, 390 such cases were registered", he said.
Informing that a lot of measures have been taken by the J&K police to curb the drug menace, the SSP said, it requires a holistic approach and the involvement of not only law enforcement agencies but parents, teachers and civil societies to tackle the issue.
