J-K students at National Integration camp in Gujarat

A group of 40 students drawn from various parts of Jammu region have sent by the BSF to take part in National Integration camp in Gujarat where about 1600 students from across the country will be present.
Inspector General (IG) BSF, Jammu Frontier, Rakesh Sharma flagged off Bharat Darshan tour comprising 40 students from remote areas of Jammu region and a female teacher with BSF staff yesterday, BSF spokesman Vinod Yadav said here today.
The 20-day tour, organised by BSF Jammu, will provide an opportunity to 20 boys and 20 girls aged 15-16 years to inculcate a sense of nationalism and see the rich heritage of the country, he said.

Of these, 21 students belong to the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, while rest belong to Ramban and Jammu districts, he said.
In the initial phase of the tour, the students will attend national integration camp at Rajkot in Gujarat where about 1600 children from various parts of the country are expected to be present, he said.
The aim of the camp is to inculcate a sense of nationalism and a scientific temprament among the youth.

They will also visit Ahmedabad, including Science city, Sabarmati Ashram, Akshardham Temple, and meet the state Chief Minister apart from visiting Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri during their visit to Agra, the spokesman said.

During their visit to national capital Delhi, the children will meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh and DG BSF besides holding interaction with various dignitaries of state and centre. They will also ride in a metro train and visit the Parliament, Red Fort and India Gate, he said.
The team will also visit Amritsar to see the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagah border to witness the parade, the spokesman said.
It may be mentioned that most of the students have not visited any place beyond Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, IG BSF said that BSF has in past also organised Bharat Darshan Tours and will continue to do so in future as well.

He said so far BSF has conducted 14 tours to north central and southern states and 538 students have availed of this opportunity.
