Jalaun case: murdered girls identified

In a fresh twist, two girls, whose bodies were recovered from Noon river in Jalaun on October 4, have been identified after which their father and his driver were arrested for murder, a senior officer said.
"The girls have been identified as Akasksha and Rishika, both residents of Dhama village in Jalaun area of Orai district," Inspector General of Police, Kanpur zone, Ashutosh Pandey told PTI.
He said that both the girls had eloped from their house on August 30.
Later the girls' father Jitendra Gujjar received a call from Government Railway Police Bhusawal and was asked to take her daughter back, he said.

"Jitendra brought his daughters on September 9 and attempted to convince them for few days failing to which he strangulated them," he said.
Pandey said that later with the help of his son-in-law Sonu and driver he disposed of the bodies.

"The jeep used in the incident has been recovered. Jitendra and his driver have been arrested in this connection," he said.
Earlier, two sisters, who were declared dead after their bodies being identified by family members, were found alive in Ghaziabad, following which the police detained their parents.
The two girls, aged 16 and 14, were found in Ghaziabad yesterday along with two persons -- Gaurav Chaturvedi and Atul Gupta, who have been accused of kidnapping and murdering them, Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Saxena had said.

The girls were later brought to Orai and sent for medical examination, he said.
Their parents, Bhure Shukla and Hemlata Shukla, were detained for giving wrong information, the SP said.
Bodies of two girls, packed in sacks, were found in Noon river under Dhamni bridge in Churkhi police station on October 4. The family members had identified the badly decomposed bodies as their daughters.
IG Kanpur said that medical examination of the two sisters recovered from Ghaziabad confirmed that they were minors.
"Two boys - Gaurav Chaturvedi and Atul Gupta - arrested with them have been sent to jail," he said.

Pandey said that a case under section 203 of IPC (giving false information) has been lodged against the parents of the two sisters.
Meanwhile, both the girls recovered from Ghaziabad refused to go back to their parents' home and were sent to the women protection home in Kanpur by Additional District Judge Ram Achal Yadav.
The ADJ also directed for recording the statement of the girls on October 22.
On the other hand Chief Judicial Magistrate Vivek Saran Tripathi has ordered lodging of case against four policemen for laxity in investigations.
The policemen against whom cases would be lodged are inspector Santosh Kumar Singh, Circle Officer Vansh Raj Yadav and investigating officers, Dhani Ram and Prem Sagar.
