'Saturday Night' was filmed back in 2008, and takes viewers behind the scenes of the late-night sketch comedy series for an episode hosted by John Malkovich, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Franco revealed on his Instagram account that the project will finally see the light of day on Friday after years of delays.
"The SNL documentary is finally coming out! On Hulu! This Friday! Watch my documentary about the history of 'Saturday Night' on #hulu plus," he wrote.
The film's release will coincide with 'Saturday Night Live's season 40 kickoff this weekend, as Chris Pratt and Ariana Grande appear on the series.
He made headlines earlier this month for shooting his next film 'Zeroville' at the Venice Film Festival, and for optioning the film rights to Chuck Palahniuk's novel 'Rant'.
