"During a drive started by the SSP railway Jammu to curb the menace of begging on or near the Jammu railway station, three persons were booked for begging yesterday," a railway police spokesman said.
He said that the railway police produced a charge sheet against the three in the court of the Executive Magistrate class I Jammu after completing all the legal formalities.
"This practice shall not only help to upkeep the image of the state among the visitors but shall also help to reduce the crime and apprehension of unscrupulous elements roaming in the guise of beggars especially during the Amarnath Yatra," he said.
