Jammu records season's hottest day at 44.5 degrees Celsius

Extreme heat wave conditions gripped Jammu as it recorded seasons's hottest day today with maximum temperature shooting up at least 6 notches above average to 44.5 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in the city shot at least six degrees above average to 44.5 degrees Celsius today, making it the season's hottest day so far, Met officials said.
The minimum temperature in Jammu was recorded at 28.5 degrees Celsius.
Weatherman predicts there would be no rains till May 24 but further increase in the temperature in next few days.
The scorching heatwave have brought the normal life in Jammu city to grinding halt as most of people were off the streets in the comfort of desert coolers and air conditioners at home.
On May 17, maximum temperature in Jammu shot upto 43.8 degrees Celsius followed by 43.6 deg C yesterday.
It may be recalled that on June 16, 2012, the maximum temperature of the day was 44.3 degrees celsius. In 2010, it was recorded at 45.1 degrees Celsius. But a record-breaking 46.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in year 2007.
