Jan Lokpal Bill most crucial issue on AAP govt's agenda: CM

Minutes after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the confidence motion in Delhi Assembly today, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said it was the passage of the Jan Lokpal bill which was the "most important issue" on the agenda of his government.
Kejriwal also vowed to fight corruption in Delhi government and the municipal corporations in the city with "all the resources" at his command and stressed that "no one will be spared" if found guilty of graft.
"Jan Lokpal Bill is the most important issue on our agenda," he told reporters. Jan Lokpal bill is AAP's version of the Lokpal, or the anti-corruption ombudsman.

Hinting at the national ambition of his fledgling outfit, he expressed confidence that the new model of politics they have started in Delhi would soon be replicated across the country.
"I am hopeful that the new type of politics we have begun in Delhi will bring positive changes to the city. Soon, it will happen in the entire country," he said.
Kejriwal said his government has tried to serve people by working day and night after having taken charge in Delhi last week and sought people's support to meet all the challenges.

"Seven ministers cannot meet these challenges. Seventy MLAs cannot. We all will have to come together to root out corruption," he said, adding that the government would in the coming weeks come up with concrete measures for ensuring greater transparency.

Dedicating his government's victory to the people, he said that himself, his party and its leaders were "small people" who were incapable of doing anything without popular support.
Meanwhile, talking about the Speaker's post, he said AAP did not consider the election for the same to be a challenge. "It does not matter to us whosoever becomes the Speaker," he said.
