Santkumar Pandram had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from Satyendra Thakur, husband of Sagar village panchayat sarpanch for clearing his bill for the supply of material used for digging wells under Nirmal Neer Scheme.
Thakur struck the deal for Rs 15,000 and had earlier given Rs 5,000 as first instalment to Pandram on June 9. He later tipped-off Lokayukta Office about it.
Today, when the complainant paid the remaining amount of the bribe to the engineer, Lokayukta sleuths caught him red-handed.
