The incident happened last night when the girl was returning home along with her sister from a medical shop, when the jawan identified as Ashok, reportedly in an "inebriated state" tried to sexually harass her, Inspector R S Raju said, quoting the complaint.
"Army has taken the jawan in their custody," he said.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim, a case has been registered under section 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act against the jawan, he added.
