Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa condoled the deaths in the mishap that occurred late last night and announced the solatium, an official release said.
She also ordered payment of Rs 50,000 to seriously injured and Rs 25,000 to those with light injuries and wished them speedy recovery.
Nine persons were killed and 15 others injured after a state-run bus rammed into a stationary lorry near Samayapuram, late last night.
Jayalalithaa said Transport Minster P Thangamani, Health Minster C Vijaya Bhaskar, Khadi and Village Industries Minster T P Poonatchi inspected the spot and visited the injured in the hospital.
