JD(U) chief whip Sanjay Gandhi told reporters here today that he has petitioned Singh for disqualification of the three MLCs as they have been indulging in anti-party activities for long.
Assembly polls are on in Bihar and only the fifth phase of polling is left to be held on November 5.
Narendra Singh, former agriculture minister in the Nitish Kumar government, is an active member of Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and has been campaigning for his two sons, while Samrat Chaudhary is part of the party.
On the delay in starting disqualification proceedings against the three rebel MLCs, state Education Minister P K Shahi said the party leadership was busy in preparations and campaigning for the assembly polls due to which it has taken time to initiate action against them.
