Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain have officially singed on for the big screen adaptation of Tom Clancy video game "The Division", developers Ubisoft announced.
The game was an instant hit for Ubisoft, achieving a record number of first day sales for the company.
Gyllenhaal, 35, will also be producing the adaptation, which centers on the aftermath of a small pox pandemic in dystopian New York. In the video game, players must attempt to rebuild the city while fighting and investigating crime, reported The Wrap.
"We are excited to collaborate with Jessica and Jake, two of Hollywood's most talented actors and perfect creative collaborators to help bring Tom Clancy's The Division to the big screen," Gerard Guillemot, Ubisoft Motion Pictures' CEO, said.
Chastain, 39, best known for her roles in "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Interstellar", will next be seen in John Madden's political thriller "Miss Sloane", opposite Mark Strong.
She is currently filming "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan" with Kit Harington.
Gyllenhaal will next be seen alongside Amy Adams and Laura Linney later this year in Tom Ford thriller "Nocturnal Animals".
