Jeweller shot at in Nawada district

A jeweller was shot at and injured in Nawada district, police said today.
Three miscreants on a motorcycle fired at Gautam Swarnakar late last night at Gopalpur village and then fled away after villagers rushed to help Swarnakar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Gopalpur villager Narayan Ram said.
Swarnakar has been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) after preliminary treatment at Akbarpur Primary Health Centre (PHC).
In another incident in the district, a wheat laden truck was looted by miscreants near Bareb village late last night.
Police said criminals hijacked the truck on National Highway - 31 after tying down the driver and helper of the truck.
They dumped the driver and the helper near a place on the border of Nawada and Nalanda districts and sped away. The truck is said to carrying wheat worth Rs 8 lakh.
FIRs have been lodged in both the incidents and the police is investigating them.
