A jewellery shop in Bihar's Madhepura district was robbed and its owner was shot at on Monday, police said.
The incident happened near Durga Mandir in the main market area under Sadar police station limits, they said.
Six men came on two bikes and opened fire at the shop owner before looting gold and silver jewellery items worth several lakhs, they added.
Police said the shop owner has been admitted to a hospital and they are raiding possible hideouts to nab those behind the incident.
In another incident, a bank was robbed of Rs 1.75 lakh in the state's Vaishali district, police said.
The incident happened around 2.30 pm at Prataptand village under Bhagwanpur police station limits at a branch of Uttar Bihar Grameen Bank branch, Hajipur Sadar Sub- Divisional Police Officer Raghav Dayal said.
Police said those behind the incident have been identified with the help of CCTV footage and raids are on to arrest them.
