The Union Ministry of Road and Surface Transport and the state government also agreed to start work at the earliest on the construction of a bridge over the Ganga river.
According to a statement by Jharkhand government, it was decided at a meeting between state chief minister Raghubir Das and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari that the National Highways Authority of India will undertake work on National Highway 23 Ranchi-Gumla (208-km), Ranchi-Garhwa (260-km), Deogarh-Chopa-Hansdiha-Pirpainti (122-km), NH-80 Mirajchowki- Rajmahal-Farakka (93-km), NH-114A Dumri-Giridh- Sarath-Dumka- Bengal Border (275-km).
