Jilted lover stabs married woman to death; tries to kill self

A married woman teacher was stabbed to death in broad daylight today allegedly by her jilted lover who later attempted suicide in Udaipur district of Rajasthan, police said.
The victim was a mother of a child and the accused Piyush Bhandari, who is also her colleague at a private school where she taught, has been arrested, police said.
The woman was attacked by him when she was walking towards the school, SHO of Rishabhdev Police Station Gyanendra Singh said.
After killing her, he also tried slitting his wrist in a suicide attempt, but was stopped by local residents.
He was given primary treatment and then arrested, Singh said.

Prima facie it appears, the accused was annoyed with the denial of his love proposal to the woman, he said, adding, the matter is being investigated to ascertain more details.
The woman was residing with her parents in Rishabdev town.
The body has been handed over to the family members after postmortem, he said.
