Jindal gets 50 per cent approval in internal Republican survey

Louisiana's Indian-American Governor Bobby Jindal - a potential Republican presidential candidate in 2016 - has 50 per cent approval in internal party survey in his home state.
Jindal's internal polling puts his approval rating at 50 per cent in Louisiana, according to the Republican survey.
The survey, conducted last week, found 55 per cent support the 42-year-old potential presidential candidate's controversial decision not to expand Medicaid, with 37 per cent opposed, Politico news site reported.
Sixty-two per cent of Louisianans oppose Obamacare, 53 per cent strongly so. Only 33 per cent favour the law.
Jindal, reelected in 2011, is term-limited.

Four-fifths of Republicans favour his Medicaid position.

President Barack Obama's approval rating is 37 per cent in the state, according to the poll.
OnMessage Inc, Jindal's main consulting firm, surveyed 800 voters from August 12 to 15.
The poll was conducted for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
