Led by senior Congress leader Vikram Malhotra, over 200 party activists held protest demonstration against BJP-PDP alliance.
Hitting out at the alliance, Malhotra criticised the BJP for befooling the people of the state by entering into alliance with PDP.
He also criticised J-K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for giving credit to Hurriyat, militants and Pakistan for peaceful conduct of Assembly polls in the state.
Instead of thanking security forces and Election Commission, he credited Pakistan and Hurriyat, which is a shame, he said, adding that we want Sayeed should seek apology for his remarks.
"Such a senior leader (Mufti) should not have made such remarks discrediting people of Jammu and Kashmir as they were instrumental in successful polls in J-K," newly-appointed J-K Pradesh Congress Committee chief Gulam Ahmed Mir told reporters here this evening.
"Mufti Sahib is considered as a senior politician of this state but yesterday's statement, he gave regarding voting, has hurt the voters of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh regions," Mir said.
"In recent elections, both the coalition partners kept flagged off divisive political agendas to vow voters. Now that the people voted them with more seats. They are now resorting to reopening to new chapters to fool people and forget the past promises and their agenda," he said.
"And PDP bargained power for self rule and AFSPA. It was meeting north pole to south pole" Mir quipped.
