"The government is contemplating adding 1000 new buses to the present fleet of SRTC for giving it new vigour", State Transport Minister Sunil Kumar Sharma said while inspecting the corporation's regional headquarters here.
The minister also met the officers and employees of the SRTC to seek their suggestions for streamlining the functioning of the corporation.
SRTC Managing Director, G A Sofi informed the minister that corporation realised a revenue of Rs 100 crore during the last financial year.
The minister also visited the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT), and inquired about the facilities provided to the passengers.
He directed SRTC MD to take adequate steps for upgrading facilities like installation of fans and availability of drinking water at the terminal.
