The 51-year-old British novelist has expressed regret for killing the Potions master on account of anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts on Twitter.
"OK, here it is. Please don't start flame wars over it, but this year I'd like to apologise for killing (whispers)... Snape. Runs for cover" wrote Rowling.
The writer took to Twitter when a user asked her if she had apologised for "another death yet".
Since 2015, Rowling has made it an annual tradition to apologise on the anniversary of the fictional battle that occurred on May 2 in the book for killing off a character.
