The JMM-led coalition government, alongwith its constituents Congress and RJD, today pledged to work for the all round development of Jharkhand, particularly for poor and tribals of the state.
"Our government will serve the interests of the poor and the tribals, besides working for all round development," the newly appointed Chief Minister Hemant Soren said after taking over the reins.
Directions have been issued to all the departments to plan out developmental programmes for the next 100 days, Soren said.
Congress leader Rajendra Prasad Singh, who was one of the two ministers to take oath alongside Soren, said the new ruling alliance would leave no stone unturned in its effort to push developmental initiatives.
"We will put all our efforts in the development of the State. We will treat ourselves as helpers of the people," Singh said soon after taking oath at Raj Bhavan.
The minister, RJD's Annapurna Devi, said the alliance would address basic needs of the people like road, electricity, drinking water and irrigation.
RJD General Secretary Ram Kripal Yadav, who was among the invitees, said he was happy that the log reign of BJP ended in Jharkhand.
"Secular forces like the Congress, RJD and JMM have come together to relieve the people of Jharkhand from the long rule of BJP. Jharkhand will see development now," claimed Yadav.
JMM leader Hemant Soren today took over as the head of the coalition government after six months of President's rule in the state.
