CPI(M) today launched a stinging attack on right-wing outfits for allegedly labeling Left parties as "anti-national" forces, saying there can't be a "bigger" farce than "Godse-worshippers" putting out certificates on nationalism.
"There can be no bigger farce than Godse-worshippers putting out certificates on nationalism," party General Secretary Sitaram Yechury tweeted.
Yechury alleged that the government has failed in dealing with issues like India's policy towards Pakistan, poor economy, escalating inflation rate, falling rupee and agrarian distress even as the opposition was being labeled as "anti-national" for underscoring the concerns.
"Indo-Pak policy in see-saw, border situation grim, events and jumlas a substitute for serious policy making. Opposition, 'anti-national' ?
"Economy in doldrums, Inflation up, Rupee down, agri in distress, jobs down, free run to mobs and Godse-lovers. Opposition is anti-national?" the Rajya Sabha member asked.
RSS had yesterday made a veiled attack on Congress and Left parties over their stand on the JNU row, saying some political leaders are "condoning anti-national acts instead of demanding action against them".
RSS spokesperson Manmohan Vaidya had also termed as "serious" what he claimed was students engaging in "anti-India activities" on the campus of a central university and some teachers supporting them.
