Air Marshal Daljit Singh, Air Officer Commanding-in- Chief, South Western Air Command, flagged off the expedition, which will also aims at establishing synergy between locals and defence forces.
The expedition, being held for the first time by the 'Golden Katar Signalers', is aimed at developing synergy among the tri-services with BSF and Coast Guard in creek, land, air, water and Rann of Rajasthan and Gujarat, organisers said.
It will help in establishing close co-ordination between different agencies and achieving better operational preparedness in the two border states, they said.
During the expedition, the group will also interact with local population, spread awareness about the forces and stress on need to preserve fragile ecology of Rajasthan and Gujarat, they said.
