Media personnel here today decided to hold a silent march on 27th June in protest against the gruesome murders of two journalists in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
The scribes held a meeting at city's Press Club and passed a resolution condemning the killing of the two journalists.
The club president Bijendra Bansal said the members have decided to lodge their protest against the killing of Sandeep Kothari, who was found burnt and beaten near a railway track in Maharashtra, and Jagendra Singh, who was set on fire by policemen at his home in Shahajahanpur in UP.
The club members would be passing a silent procession wearing black badges and banners from BK Chowk to Neelam Chowk on Saturday, Bansal said.
Later, the members will also submit a memorandum to President of India, Prime Minister of India, Governor and Chief Minister of Haryana.
The memorandum will include the demand of justice for both the journalists killed while performing their jobs as well as effective policy towards the safety of journalists to prevent any such repetition in the future.
