Judge Katulkar, who is also presiding over the trial in the 2013 Jiram valley Naxal attack case in NIA court here, has complained to the police about the SMS threatening him with dire consequences.
"As per the complaint, the judge received an SMS from an unknown number threatening him to deliver verdict in favour the man involved in a divorce case," Inspector General of Police, Bilaspur Range, Pawan Deo said.
In view of the threat, the security of the judge has been beefed up, the IG said.
Judge Katulkar had also received a threat letter from Maoists in June this year.
A 'sutli' bomb along with a "threat" letter was thrown at his house on June 12. A police case was then registered in this regard.
