Judge Loya case: Cong should apologise for conspiring to defame Shah, says Raje

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today said the Congress should apologise for "conspiring" to tarnish the image of BJP president Amit Shah in the judge B H Loya death case.

The Supreme Court rejected a "Congress-sponsored PIL" in the judge B H Loya death case. The development exposed the Congress, which had hatched a conspiracy to tarnish Shah's image, Raje alleged.

She said the Congress should tender an apology to the people of the country.

"Levelling false allegations, tarnishing the image of reputed people and stooping low for political gains has been an old tradition of the Congress," she said in a statement.

The Supreme Court today dismissed pleas seeking an independent probe into the death of judge Loya, ruling that he died of natural causes and the petitions were a serious attempt to scandalise and obstruct the course of justice.

The top court dubbed the PILs into the death of judge Loya, who was hearing the high-profile Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case, as frivolous and motivated litigations.

Loya had died allegedly of a cardiac arrest in Nagpur on December 1, 2014 where he had gone to attend the wedding of a colleague's daughter.
