Judicial Academy to come up at Ahmedabad HC premises

In an initiative to strengthen the judicial system, the state government said it has approved budget for State Judicial Academy, to come up inside the High Court premises in Ahmedabad.
The Minister of State for Law and Justice Pradeep Singh Jadeja, in a written reply to a question during the ongoing budget session in Gujarat Assembly today, said the approval to build a complex for Judicial Academy has been given and the work has already began in January 2014.
The approved budget for the construction is Rs 63.94 crores.
According to the Gujarat High Court website, the Judicial Academy will provide training to judicial officers and newly inducted civil judges.

In addition, some more allocation of funds have been made by government for High Court, he said.
For the security of visitors at Gujarat High Court, the government has approved Rs 3.24 crores, which will be spent on constructing 'facility building for security and safety of visitor', said Jadeja in a written reply to another question in the house.
For the security personnel deployed at High Court premises, the state government is constructing barracks (hostel) at a cost of Rs 5.29 crores, he said, to a query raised by Sabarmati MLA Arvindkumar Patel.
Jadeja also gave detail of construction of fire safety control building at a cost of Rs 1.04 crores and store cum record room being constructed at a cost of Rs 35.98 lakh.
