Judicial commission on Madhubani police firing submits report

A judicial Commission headed by Justice (Retd) Uday Sinha today submitted report to the state government on Madhubani police firing incident in which two persons were killed two years ago.
Sinha, who headed the one-man judicial commission, submitted the judicial commission's final report to the Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
The contents of the report have not been made public even as the Chief Minister has said that the state government will go through the report and take required action in the matter.
Two persons were killed in police firing in Madhubani district two years ago during agitation over the whereabout of a missing boy Prashant Jha (17), who was subsequently found along with his girlfriend from New Delhi after two had eloped without telling anything to their respective family members.

The local people led by Jha's kins had intensified agitation after the police had refused to hand over a body to them which they believed to be that of the young boy, but the police had insisted on the basis of DNA report that the corpse belonged to somebody else.
After the protesters had indulged in large-scale violence and arson of public properties following the refusal of local police to hand over the body, the cops fired on the mob in which two persons were killed.
The then Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had ordered a judicial probe headed by the former Patna high court judge Uday Sinha.
