The bar association president Manas Das was assaulted by alleged Trinamool workers while returning home from court yesterday.
An FIR was lodged in connection with the case.
Das said the association has decided to abstain from work till the attackers are arrested.
TMC had lost to Congress-CPI-M alliance in the March election to the bar association.
TMC local leadership denied any involvement of the party workers in the incident.
