"The government has decided to withdraw the case registered against Mishra during 2009 Lok Sabha elections and the decision has been conveyed to the special prosecution officer (SPO), who will submit it before the concerned court," District Magistrate Om Narain Singh said.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Pilibhit had been repeatedly issuing non-bailable warrants against the minister because of non-appearance before the court, despite repeated summons and the next hearing in the case is scheduled for May 21.
Misra and his supporters had stormed the court when the then Pilibhit MP and BJP leader Varun Gandhi surrendered in connection with a hate speech case.
