Kamal Nath named chairman of Cong screening committee

Former Union Minister Kamal Nath has been named the chairman of the Congress screening committee for the Assembly elections in Assam due this year.
"The Congress president Sonia Gandhi has constituted the Screening Committee for the ensuing Assembly elections in Assam. Kamal Nath as been named as the Chairman," a statement issued by Janardan Dwivedi said.
Other members of the five-member committee are AICC General Secretary in-charge V Narayanasamy, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Assam PCC president Anjan Dutta.
Assam will go to polls in two phases on April 4 and 11.
