Kandha Sashti festival to begin on October 24

The seven-day "Kandha Sashti Festival" of the famous Sri Subramaniaswamy temple, the first abode of Lord Muruga at Tirupaarnkunram near here, will begin on October 24 with the formal "Kappu Kattuthal" (wearing a band), temple sources said.
The "Shanmuga Archanai" would be performed daily in the morning and evening and the idol of the deity would be taken to Tiruvachi Hall for special poojas.
The "soorasamharam (killing a demon king) would take place on October 29 and the car festival the next day.
