The 30-year-old actress, who will play warrior queen Rani Laxmibai in the film, arrived at the Ghat with the entire team of her movie and performed the rituals.
Donning a golden saree, which she teamed with an orange brocade blouse and traditional jewellery, Kangana not only offered her prayers but also took a dip in the holy waters of the Ganges and chanted "Har Har Mahadev".
The actress stayed at the Ghat throughout the aarti ceremony, which takes place everyday at the Dashashwamedh Ghat.
"Manikarnika" will chronicle the life and struggles of Rani Laxmibai during the fight for independence. The film will also be shot in Varanasi and release on April 27 next year.
