The 45-year-old producer took to Twitter to announce that he was onboard the film, along with Fox Star Studios and Sajid Nadiadwala Entertainment.
The yet-to-be-titled movie has been slated to release on the Good Friday weekend of April 19, 2019.
"DHARMA collaborates with FOX STAR STUDIOS and SAJID NADIADWALA directed by ABHISHEK VARMAN... APRIL 19th,2019 #GoodFriday," Johar tweeted.
In another tweet, the "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" director said the final cast of the movie will be announced soon.
"The FINAL cast of this collaboration will be put out soon along with the title All rumours of story and other details circulating are FALSE!" he wrote.
