The renovation of 'Balavana' in Puttur was almost over and finishing touches were being given to the building, official sources said.
The writer, who built the house in 1930, had been living there till 1973.
A team of conservation architects of the Indian National Trust for Art and Heritage (INTACH) have taken up the restoration of the house.
Old materials of the house including stones, tiles, rafters, door frames and windows had been restored, while damaged items were replaced with new ones to give the house an original look.
Another Rs one crore was sanctioned in the 2015 budget for other development works to be taken up in a phased manner.
Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree would inaugurate the renovated house.
Cultural and literary events would be held at the house on a regular basis, the sources said.
The second phase of the restoration work on other buildings the writer had built 80 years ago is being taken up by a committee set up last year.
