Life crawled in Kargil at frigid -20 degrees Celsius even as the cold wave tightened grip on the valley and Ladakh region in Jammu and Kashmir.
The nearby Leh town quivered at -13.8 degrees Celsius.
Srinagar recorded a minimum of -3.1 degrees Celsius. Qazigund groaned at -3.
Kokernag town registered a low of -1.8 degrees Celsius, Kupwara -3, Pahalgam -1.5 and Gulmarg -8.6.
Kashmir is currently under the grip of Chillai-Kalan, a 40-day period of harshest winter.
