The pair performed a rendition of "John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16", before Urban sang solo on one of his tracks, "Somebody Like You", reported Entertainment Weekly.
"Someone absolutely incredible is about to come out on this stage. This is someone who has sold 20 million records but, more importantly, is an amazing human being," she told the crowd.
Swift, 25, posted a black-and-white photo of her and Urban together during a sound check to commemorate the event.
"He's been so wonderful to me. He's one of the most talented people who has ever been born," the pop star added.
