Kejriwal appeals for donations ahead of Punjab, Goa polls

Ahead of Punjab and Goa polls, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal today appealed for donations from common man, even as he said his party does not take funds from industrialists as "they ask us to do their wrong work" after elections.
The Delhi Chief Minister also asked his supporters to spare time for campaigning in the two states and said that the party works on "common people's time and money".
"AAP works on common people's time and money. You have to give both time as well as donations for polls in Punjab and Goa," he said.
In a video message, Kejriwal explained the reason behind not taking donations from the corporates, claiming that they will have to return the favour by doing their "wrong work".

"We don't take money from big industrial houses. If we do that, they will come to us after elections and ask us to do their wrong work," he said.
He also claimed every single penny to his party is scrutinised by the Income Tax department, a day after the government said political parties will be exempt from paying income tax while depositing old 500 and 1,000 rupees notes.
Questioning the central government's move, the Delhi chief minister demanded setting up of a commission to probe the source of funding of political parties.
He said, "AAP is being scrutinised for all the years since inception by the I-T department. Every single entry is being probed," Kejriwal tweeted.
