"We only want to ask how many times Kejriwal is going to apologise? When he quit the 49-day government, he came back, he apologised and today again, he is apologising. So, he needs to introspect. Tendering an apology won't suffice," Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken said.
"He has to give it a thought why such a situation cropped up, what were the lacunas in organising the rally, what could have been done," he said.
On Kejriwal's charges against the media in connection with the coverage of the incident, Maken said the AAP convener should stop levelling "allegations-counter allegations" against the media and suggested that he "improve" his style of working.
"He is blaming media, but he went on giving speech to be seen in the same media. He should come out of allegations-counter allegations and introspect. He should improve his style of working," Maken said.
Two days after Rajasthan farmer Gajendra Singh hanged himself from a tree in full public gaze at an AAP rally in Delhi, Kejriwal today apologised for not calling off the event and admitted that his making a speech was a "mistake".
Under fire over his handling of the issue that has snowballed into a major controversy, the AAP supremo also slammed the media and the opposition parties, saying the debate had veered away from the "real issue" of the farmers' plight.
