The five-bedroom house in Palm Springs, California, was designed in 1954 and comes complete with Hollywood memorabilia, according to the listing agent Jim Schwietz.
The 99-year-old "Spartacus" star bought the property in the late 1950s, and the Douglas family - including son Michael Douglas - used the home as a family retreat until 1999, when it was sold to its current owners, reported New York Post.
The 4,000-square-foot property is steeped in Old Hollywood lore, according to Schwietz. One of the estate's five bedrooms is nicknamed the Kate and Spencer room because Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy allegedly carried on an affair from there, while Frank Sinatra was also said to have cooked meals in the kitchen.
And, in a homage to the former owner, the pool house is wallpapered in posters from Douglas' prolific movie career, including "Spartacus" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
