KITCO, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy organisation, has bagged the project management consultancy (PMC) contract from AAI for setting up a Rs 600 crore new integrated terminal building at the Imphal International Airport in Manipur.
KITCO, set up in 1972 by the IDBI Bank and national level financial institutions jointly with Kerala Government, was offering a wide range of consultancy services from 'Concept to Commissioning', a release from the organisation said here Tuesday.
This is the second PMC contract received from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) after the Mangaluru airport expansion project, currently in progress.
It said both the projects were awarded through competitive bidding.
The Imphal project taken up by KITCO on concept-to-commissioning basis envisages among others construction of the new integrated terminal building conforming to GRIHA 4 Star Rating, apron link and taxiway, new control tower, parking bays for A321/B737-800/Q400 type of aircraft and parking and internal roads, the release said.
The project was to be completed in 54 months.
The AAI plans to develop the Imphal airport as an Intra-Regional Hub with facility for early morning and late night operations.
"Aviation division of KITCO had proved its strength and competence in undertaking major airport infrastructure projects such as Cochin International Airport and Kannur International Airport terminals," Cyriac Davies, Managing Director, KITCO Ltd said.
