"The accused, Sudarshan Swain, working in a software firm in Kolkata, was arrested on January 17. He had used the money collected from the victim to get his hair transplanted at a clinic in Park Street of Kolkata," Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said.
The victim, a BTech graduate from Nagole area here, had lodged a complaint with police on December 15 last year stating that in November 2016, while looking for jobs online, he had sent his resume to one Tapan. The latter asked him to deposit Rs 50,000 for receiving a call letter for interview for the job in Zensar Technologies Ltd.
After getting the offer letter, the victim went to Zensar Technologies' office at Gachibowli here, but realised that the offer letter was fake, following which he lodged a complaint and a case was registered.
During the course of investigation, police found that the fraudsters had sent spoofed e-mails in the name of e-mail IDs of Zensar Technologies Ltd with a forged copy of offer letter, the CP said.
Further investigation into the case is on.
