Krishna Kalle gets Maha Govt's Lata Mangeshkar award

Veteran music director Yashwant Deo today presented noted singer Krishna Kalle the Lata Mangeshkar Award 2013-14 for her contribution to music.
The award is normally given away every year on September 28, the birthday of the legendary singer, and comprises a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a citation and a memento.
On the occasion, Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde did not sit on the stage as is the norm but was in the audience, saying the stage belongs to arts and only artists must occupy it.
