The visual, aired on some private tv channels, showed former RJD MLC Anwar Ahmad bending and helping Prasad wear shoes at a function at Jasaulia Jamunia village in East Champaran district yesterday, where the RJD chief unveiled a statue of an ex-legislator Yamuna Yadav.
As the visual went viral, Ahmad called it an "unnecessary controversy" created by the media.
"I shouted at him to make way and tied the knot quickly to save time as we had to catch up with the next programme," Ahmad said.
The RJD leader laughed at the report that Prasad's shoes were stolen and hence he had to lend him his own shoes.
The former RJD MLC said Prasad even did not tell him to tie his shoelace and he did it on his own to save time.
