The anti-terror squad (ATS) of Jharkhand Police found a large number of SIM cards and a SIM box during raid at two places here, a senior police officer said Thursday.
The SIM cards and the SIM box device were found during the raids conducted at two localities here on Tuesday and Wednesday, Superintendent of Police, Ranchi, Aman Kumar said.
"SIM cards were found at Kantatoli and Kanke, but we cant say seizure or recovered until the inquiry by the ATS is over," Kumar said when asked whether the huge number of SIM cards and the SIM box were recovered during the raids.
He said the ATS is inquiring into the matter. It could be possible that they (people) could be using it for fraud or spying, he said.
"We cant say it is seizure or recovered. It is only found and the ATS is inquiring about any criminal aspect," the SP said.
There is no report of any arrest so far, the police sources said.
