Larsen & Toubro wins orders worth Rs 1,960 crore

Company's construction arm has secured these contracts in different businesses

Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today said it has bagged orders worth Rs 1,960 crore across business segments.

The company's construction arm has secured these contracts in different businesses including water and effluent treatment projects, Larsen & Toubro said in a BSE filing.

In water and effluent treatment division, L&T has secured orders worth Rs 1,053 crore from the Water Resource Department of Odisha for engineering, procurement and construction of 34 lift irrigation schemes in various districts, it said.

"The major scope involves construction of 34 intake wells and delivery chambers, supply and laying of 400 km of ductile iron pipelines...," the filing said.

The scope also involves supply and installation of 96 vertical turbine pumps of capacities ranging from 80 to 470 KW and other associated works, it said, adding that the project is scheduled to be completed in 30 months.

In the heavy civil infrastructure category, the company has secured orders worth Rs 889 crore. It has also received an order from Chennai Metro Rail Corporation for the construction of Chennai Metro line Package 3 Underground - Balance works, it said.

"The scope involves engineering, procurement and construction of 4 stations at AG-DMS, Teynampet, Nandanam, Saidapet and Saidapet ramp portion with associated tunnel works," it said.

Other works include mechanical, electrical, plumbing and architectural works at these stations. The project is scheduled to be completed in 20 months, it added.

The firm also secured orders in Tuticorin and Chennai for piling and diaphragm wall works, it said.

Additional orders have also been received for other businesses, it added.
