The Kerala government is prepared to hold any probe into the killing of a Youth Congress functionary here, state minister A K Balan said even as an all-party peace meeting was marred by a walkout by Congress-led UDF leaders.
Action will be taken against all accused irrespective of their political affiliations, the Law minister said.
Balan said if anyone was unhappy with the present police probe, they are free toapproach the court and seek any other investigation.
Government is prepared to hold any probe, he told reporters after an all-party peace meeting here called by the state government in the wake of the killing.
Condemning the incident, he said all the accused in the case will be arrested.
"Everyone wants peace for which the support of all is needed," he said.
Seeing CPI(M) MP Rageesh on the dais, Congress-led UDF leaders protested and walked out saying people's representatives of opposition parties had not been invited.
Two CPI(M) workers have been arrested in the case even as Congress has alleged that these were "dummy accused".
Youth congress Mattannur block leader Shuhaib was hacked to death on February 13 by a group of persons, suspected to be belonging to the CPI(M).
