Lead futures strengthened by 0.43 per cent to Rs 115.80 per kg today in the evening session trade as speculators raised their bets on rising demand in the domestic spot market.
The exchange remained closed for the morning session on account of 'Id-e-Milad'.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January was trading higher by 50 paise, or 0.43 per cent, at Rs 115.80 per kg, with a turnover of 113 lots.
The metal for delivery this month edged higher by 45 paise, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 115.85 per kg, in a business volume of 1,531 lots.
Marketmen said that apart from pick-up in domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers mainly supported the upside in lead futures here.
